Workplace question...can a supervisor legally do this?
I work for a large business with many employees and supervisors. One supervisor in particular not mine thank goodness is particularly controlling and hard to get along with. This business has many doors and we all use electronic key fobs to get in. This supervisor has now announced to his employees that they must use one specific door every time they come and go and they not only have to scan their key when they enter but they also must scan their key every time they leave. He has also set up a camera to watch that door he thinks it is hidden but his employees all know its there. The ONLY employees that have to do this are the ones that are working under this particular supervisor. I should also point out that this person once took an item of mail out of MY mailbox that I had been given by the business office to give to another employee. I know he did this because I checked my mailbox before lunch one day and saw the item with the employees name on it I work closely with this employee but he doesnt have the rank to have his own mailbox. When i went back after lunch to pick it up it was gone and later the supervisor gave the mail OPENED to him.
