Horse Show Questions?
Im going to a championship horse show this weekend YAY and I need a few tips. Im doing 2 western pleasure classes one horsemanship trail barrels poles and a walk trot class. Any tips on how to make your horse look extra gorgeous? My horse is like a dark honeyishbay color with a black mane and tail. He has a perfect tail so I wont be needing a fake tail. He has 2 white stockings and 2 socks. Also what is freestyle western pleasure and freestyle showmanship? Thank you Im not taking a picture of the horse Im riding him in the classes. But thanks anyway Maria Ill use that in the future:

. In this case I cropped the photo and added a cinema border to it for a more bold look. 2 When taking a photo of the entire horse youll need to be careful when snapping the photo from a forward angle. The wrong forward angle can make the entire horse seem out of proportion. Try to snap your photos from the side and slightly behind your horse. 3 If your taking a still photo of your horse its the most flattering for the horse to be standing with its feet square Square is when both the front legs even with each other and both the back legs even with each other The horses legs do not have to be exactly even with each other just close. 4 Get those ears up If you snap a photo of your horse with his ears back or down it will look unflattering no matter how gorgeous your horse is. You want the ears to be up forward in your photos unless you are specifically trying to capture the horses emotions where his ears are back or down. 5 The background of your photo should be as uncluttered as possible. Your horse should dominate the photograph with little or nothing to distract the eye such as people or vehicles. If your background is distracting move your horse to a nice back drop change your angle if needed. 6 Normally youll want your horse to be centered in the picture. However offcenter framing can be perfect for some shots. 7 If you see a good shot take it and dont hesitate Hesitating is a common reaction.....you feel that if you wait you will get that perfect shot. But thats not usually how it works out. If you are using a digital camera then hesitating should not be an issue because there is no concern about the cost of film development. You can take as many shots as you want without adding to your costs. Read more: How to Take Gorgeous Photos of your Horse eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/how4532669gorgeousphotoshorse.htmlixzz10ObJhYIw

Colorenhancing shampoos are wonderful. You can purchase them at any horse or common barn store southern states etc.. For the hooves natural moisturizing creams and hoof dressing make the hooves look clean great and not brittle. http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horsehoofcare.htm http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/hoofdressing.htm Get special mane and tail conditioners to help strengthen moisturize and create shine. http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/maneandtail.htm Shine sprays are great too. They give a healthy glossy looking shine that catches the judges eye. http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horsecoatpolish.htm Make sure to groom your horse every day. This helps create a nice shine. Also make sure to clip correctly. Good luck.

heres my list pull the mane a day or two before and then band it that day or the night before and just touch it up that day and use the right color bands and the smaller section look better than the larger ones make sure you horses tail is fully combed through and clean if you have straggly hairs that are out of place with the natural tail shape at the tip trim them you dont want your horses tail dragging or straight across make sure his white is white apply a light dusting of cornstarch for a nice uniformed bright white the hooves are sometimes ignored put the hoof black or hoof gloss on them depending on their color its a small extra but helps complete the overall look use a product like showsheen to make the coat shiny and it helps repel dust/dirt make sure your horses whiskersears bridle path and if needed around the hoof and fetlock are trimmed properly the day before or early that day use a nice safe product to smear around the muzzle eyes and base and edges of ears like vaseline to make those areas stand out a bit no baby oil or anything that will cause a sunburn and use it right before you start your classes the same time as the hoof black or gloss you can also take some show sheen in your hands and work it in the forelock to keep it looking prettyjust dont over do it and always have a hand towel ready to wipe eye boogies and nose boogies in the inner part of the nostril gently nothing worse than nose boogies getting blown on you in front of the judge or on the judge having clean tack and your personal attire are always complimentary good luck
