What part of my diet probably caused constipation?
I understand that this is the very definition of Too Much Information but I just had a very unpleasant five days. I dont know what caused it and Iwant to avoid having this happen to me again. Heres a list of how I generally eat. Im a healthfreak in many ways so Im very consistent. Breakfast: A Yoplait Light FatFree Yogurt a Thomas Bagel Thin with Weight Watchers cream cheese or a poached egg and a Thomas MultiGrain English muffin. With either berries rasp blue or black or a banana Lunch: Bread Thin 2 oz lean turkey one slice of Weight Watchers American cheese Either a bell pepper cherry tomatoes or sugar snap peas Two servings of fruit. I vary every day between honeycrisp apples nectarines plums pears and bananas. Dinner: Usually a 4 oz. chicken breast prepared in some different way. I initially worried that my recipe this week which included hot sauce was the cause but I dont know. 3 servings of fruit usually including frozen grapes: green or red 2 servings of vegetables usually the same ones that I eat for lunch but this week I ate a lot of carrots 1 Skinny Cow ice cream cup or ice cream sandwich I also have a love for candy corn. I had some this week to celebrate the fall. About a serving: 13 pieces. Misc. I do drink coffee but I try to limit myself to one small cup per day. However I suffer from insomnia which is selfperpetuating because Im exhausted because I cant sleep so I drink coffee to stay awake during the day and then I stay awake etc. It was a particularly bad week for my circadian rhythms so one two of the days I drank two cups of coffee. Caffeinated beverages in general are my vice. I drink diet soda but mostly its just an unsweatened green tea every day. I also drink a lot of water but maybe not enough to offset the dehydrating effect of the coffee and tea. All of produce and lunchmeat is organic. I think I might be eating too much dairy because Im trying to balance how much fruit and veggies I eat with protein and Im not a big meatlover. For a few days this week I ate two bananas. I know they can be hard on your stomach. Anyway I know this is long and TMI but I would really appreciate any advice about how to ensure that my diet doesnt cause me further discomfort.
